Traffic Operator

Our client is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Traffic Operator to join their professional team in the logistics sector. As a reputable haulier in the industry, our client prides itself on delivering excellence in customer service and operational efficiency. Your role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations of a fleet of articulated vehicles, along with subcontractors, ensuring seamless transportation solutions for various customer needs.

So what does the role look like?

Plan and manage the daily operations of a fleet of vehicles to meet general customer requirements.
Be on call out of hours and at weekends to resolve urgent matters when shift managers are unavailable.
Ensure timely assignment of the right vehicles to the correct locations.
Schedule, dispatch, and track the daily vehicle fleet efficiently.
Maintain compliance of vehicles, trailers, and LGV drivers with company policies and industry regulations.
Monitor and manage a team of drivers to ensure optimal performance.
Liaise with the fleet regarding training requirements for LGV drivers.
Conduct full and complete incident and accident reporting and management.
Ensure that all customer objectives are met and exceeded.
So do you have what it takes?

Industry-standard experience in a traffic operations role is essential.
International CPC qualification is desirable.
Thorough understanding of all relevant legal compliance and fleet controls.
Working knowledge of HGV costs and financial management.
Experience with Mandata, Tachomaster, or similar TMS is preferred.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to prioritise effectively.
Excellent communication skills paired with good analytical capabilities.
Demonstrable people skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
