So what does the role look like?
Manage the import process for ocean freight shipments from start to finish.
Coordinate with shipping lines, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely delivery.
Prepare and verify documentation including bills of lading, customs declarations, and import permits.
Monitor shipments and handle any issues that may arise during transit.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations associated with customs and imports.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide updates and resolve queries quickly.
Maintain accurate records and data entry into the company’s logistics software systems.
So do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate will possess:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software, with excellent data entry skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused approach.
Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
