HGV Class 1 Driver with Heavy Plant Experience

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Class 1 driver with heavy plant experience to join their growing team based at their Beccles depot. Renowned for their top-quality service, our client caters to a diverse array of customers, providing an extensive range of machinery for hire, including crushers, screeners, dumpers, loading shovels, rollers, and a variety of excavators complete with attachments. So what does the role look like?

Transport heavy plant machinery to and from customer sites safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and organise deliveries.
Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and other required documentation.
Assist in loading and unloading equipment as necessary, ensuring proper securing of the cargo.
Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients on site.

So do you have what it takes?

Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
Experience operating and transporting heavy plant machinery.
Strong knowledge of transport legislation and health and safety regulations.
Possess a valid CPC and Digicard.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
Experience with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in using GPS systems and other route-planning software.
