So what does the role look like?
– Developing, implementing, and monitoring group-wide health and safety policies and practices.
– Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and keeping abreast of any changes in law.
– Conducting regular site inspections and audits across all companies within the group to ensure policies are adhered to.
– Setting a personal example of safety, leading from the front to instill a safety-first culture throughout the organisation.
– Providing guidance, support, and training to staff regarding health and safety issues and risks.
– Preparing and maintaining documentation, such as inspection reports and safety guidelines.
– Leading investigations into incidents and near-misses, devising strategies to prevent future occurrences.
So do you have what it takes?
Role-specific experience:
– Proven experience in a Health and Safety managerial role, preferably within the plant hire, machinery, or Engineering sectors.
– Deep understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to the UK and how it applies within the context of a multi-faceted operation.
– Required knowledge / IT skills:
– Proficient in the use of MS Office suite for reporting and communication purposes.
– Familiar with health and safety management systems and software.
Basic skills / Communication skills:
Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with staff at all levels to foster a positive safety culture.
Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Number of years experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health and Safety managerial role is essential.
